Airtel to launch 4G in Assam soon, invites customers to upgrade USIMs

In a move to make the Digital India campaign successful, Bharti Airtel is launching its 4G services in Assam very soon. According to the news reports, the company has asked its customers to switch their existing 2G/3G accounts to 4G UMIs, completely free of cost. The USIM upgrade will enable users to enjoy their existing 2G/3G services, while staying ready for the 4G connection until its official launch. This service will be available in 37 towns of Assam, including Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Duliajan, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Lakhmipur, Mangaldai, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sibsagar, Silchar, Tezpur and Tinsukia.

With 4G facility in their device, Airtel customers can enjoy unlimited HD video streaming, superfast uploading and download of movies, music and images.

The CEO of Airtel North East, MR Sameer Anjaria commented on the news, saying “We are inviting data savvy customers to be 4G ready with a simple switch to an Airtel USIM. We look forward to serving them with world-class services on India’s widest 4G network.”

The introduction of Airtel 4G in Assam is a part of the The Project Leap, which is Airtel’s initiative for nation-wide transformation. The company has made a planned investment of Rs. 60,000 crores over the next three years. The Project Leap is a strategic initiative by the company which particularly aims at perceptively improving its network quality and delivering the best customer experience.
