After reliance backed Jio made an official entry in the market a couple of months back, the data tariff market across the country is witnessing a tremendous change. Jio has been wooing customers with free data tariffs, in a reply to which other leading telecom companies like Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone have come up numerous data and voice call packs to keep its customer base intact.
Going in the same route, the latest data pack launched by Airtel offers 2GB data at 3G/4G speed at just Rs. 153 to its prepaid customers. However, this offer is not on a pan India basis and is available only for few selected customers. While the promotional packs of others operators are providing 1GB data in 3G/4G speed in the same rate, Airtel’s new data pack will be offering around 65% more to the customers. Also, Airtel customers can get the data pack without any upfront payment, as the company has started offering the promotional offer to thousands of data consumers (selected) across almost all the major circles of the country. Airtel is also offering similar benefits to its postpaid customers where a customer can get 1.5 GB of 3G/4G data benefit only at Rs. 100.
This newly introduced pack will surely appease the customers who are paying an amount of Rs. 250- 350 for just 1GB of data. Also, it is expected that such offers from the popular telecom companies will give a tough competition to Jio’s free data usage pattern through its Welcome Offer, as Airtel’s latest offerings are still 50% cheaper.
